These self-adhesive cards allow you to personalise proximity cards without printing on to them directly. They are made from durable PVC with a gloss finish, on the reverse is a self-adhesive backing making them easy to stick directly onto proximity access control cards. What type of cards fit self-adhesive cards?
Cards that are too thick to personalise through a card printer, such as Clamshell or certain HID cards, temporary or cards you want to re-use to save money. Print and personalise the self-adhesive card through your card printer, peel off the backing paper then adhered onto the proximity access control card. The adhesion is super strong, however don’t worry, if you need to use the proximity card for a different employee it’s easy enough to remove the old ID and replace with a new one.
What does thickness options 320, 400 and 480 Micron mean?
Micron refers to the thickness of the card, a standard credit card is 760 micron, so without the backing paper, a 320 micron self-adhesive card is just under ½ the thickness. The backing paper is 175micon.
It’s important to note that adhesive-backed cards are not recommended for use with reverse transfer-style printers or when lamination is necessary.
